“Painter, draftsman, sculptor and screen printer”

Artist belonging to the generation of the 80s in Cuba. Painter, draftsman, sculptor and screen printer, he studied sculpture at the National School of Arts in Havana and studies in painting and drawing at the Higher Institute of Arts in the same city. He created the group RUPTURA composed of his four heteronyms: Nelson, Villa, Ferrer and Lobo and a manifesto of the same name, with which he defended art for art’s sake, far removed from times and trends, a plural art. This plurality makes him a painter of painters, who may seem lacking in style, and yet contains all of them. His work is a confluence of cultures – Afro-Cuban, Egyptian, Latin American, Peruvian among others and the influence of other great artists – such as Picasso, Matisse, Picabia among so many – from whom he drinks and from where his own pictorial universe flows.
