María is a visual artist specializing in painting and muralism with a social and educational focus. She holds a degree in Fine Arts and has trained in Milan and in Art Therapy. Since 2008, she has developed community projects in contexts such as hospitals, penitentiary centers, peripheral neighborhoods, refugee camps, and educational centers throughout Spain. She has held more than twenty solo exhibitions in Spain and abroad and has received numerous awards, including the ARTE Y COMPROMISO from Pablo de Olavide University.

Her work, inspired by nature and self-knowledge, creates poetic atmospheres that invite reflection. Her most recent mural in Vigo was recognized as the 5th Best in the World in July 2025, according to the platform Street Art Cities. María Ortega Estepa’s murals are much more than painting; they are collective processes of social transformation, with a poetic style that uses nature to convey calm and resilience.

She lives and works in Seville.
